Open Doors is a recognized student organization at Ohio Northern University that focuses on issues relating to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning people, and their straight allies (GLBTQA). The organization hosts monthly social events for members to help GLBTQA students feel supported on campus.

Open Doors also heads up several large campus wide awareness initiatives like Unite for Awareness Week and National Day of Silence to help educate the ONU campus about GLBTQA issues. We meet regularly and hold many events at the Multicultural Center on 307 Union St.

Open Doors is responsible for the Faculty Allies program that allows supportive faculty, administration, and staff to be more visible around campus to GLBTQA students. Allies post a rainbow polar bear and have training about sexuality issues and information on additional campus resources.

Our mission is to promote awareness, foster diversity, provide support, and above all educate the ONU community and others on issues relating to GLBTQA people.
